This rocky promontory jutting out into the sea is barely connected to the land by a few boulders. Topped by a church built in 1650 for the Virgin of Chrysopigi or Panagia Chrysopigi ("Golden Spring"), it is certainly the best-known site on Sifnos and one of the most photographed. The place is majestic, in the changing colors of the sky and sea. To the left of the church, the beautiful sandy beach of Apokofto offers clear, turquoise waters. For swimming, there's a quiet rocky outcrop around the church promontory. On the right, the rocks of Saoures are somewhat sheltered, which is appreciated on windy days.
