Over the port of Psathi, Chorio's white houses are built around a kastro similar to that of Folegandros or Sikinos. The inner part of the citadel dates from the xiiith century and the outer part of the xviie. The three main doors are retained: they ensured the security of the impregnable city. Chorio also has some beautiful churches like Aghios Nikolaos (Seventeenth century), Aghios Giorgios and Aghios Chrysostomos (1608). During the day there is absolute calm and the village appears to be out of a postcard. Free-access books are offered in narrow streets that lead as miracles to small plots where life is resumed at the end of the day. A walk out of time.
