Inland, this long village is the island's administrative center. This is where you'll find Mljet's municipal tourist office. Visitors will be amazed by the sight of a Ragusan villa and the number of medieval chapels (five in all). Nearby, after a 30-minute walk along a rocky path leading down to the sea, you'll find the famousOdisejeva špilja (Odysseus' Cave). A magical place, it can also be discovered from the sea, with snorkelling and diving from the boat. 4.5 km west of Babino Polje, the sandy beach (Sutmiholjska) is a local favorite.
