At the western end of the island, this fishing harbour has become in recent years a pleasant little resort, very popular with boaters, whose boats (and even yachts) you will see moored in the bay. Located a 15-minute walk from the small lake and inhabited by only 50 people during the winter, Pomena is also the main entry point to the Mljet National Park. The park office is located at the roadside at the entrance to the village. A regular bus service connects Pomena to Sobra in the middle of the island, and in this small port most of the excursion boats from Dubrovnik, Split or Korčula call.
