Bandafassi is a village half-Peul, half-Bédik on the main road, 20 km from Kédougou in the direction of Salémata. It is the gateway to the Bédik country, in a valley where marble is found, before climbing up the hilltops. Once in Bandafassi, we look up and see a rock: Ethwar. One reaches Bandafassi from Kédougou by the road that leads to Salémata, but one can also reach it from Mako by taking a good track, also very beautiful, which starts from the village of Tenkoto, 60 km after the camp of Mako in the direction of Kédougou. By transport, take a bush taxi to Salémata and stop at the roadside.
