Ibel is a Fulani village about ten kilometres from Bandafassi, in the centre of one of the largest marble quarries in Senegal. The quarries can be visited without any problem, just take a guide in the village. It is also the starting point to the village of Iwol. You can reach Ibel from Kédougou by stopping in Bandafassi, then walking the small ten kilometers that separate Bandafassi from Ibel. From Ibel, one can take minibuses to Salémata, which leave from Monday to Friday in the early morning for about 3 000 FCFA. If you opt for this solution, be there at least one hour before departure.
