On the national road 16 towards Brindisi. San Vito is a small, dynamic agricultural village with a beautiful medieval centre. In the Middle Ages, it welcomed a Slavic colony, which remained there until 1863. The Château Castle of Altavilla, dating from the th century and many times reconstructed, is worth a look. A stop in San Vito will also give you the opportunity to visit the surrounding area, rich in rock churches and archeological evidence, such as the Paretone dei Greci, the megalithic wall of 2 km long which is still unknown. Without forgetting the crypts, including those of San Giovanni, San Nicola, Santa Maria and San Giacomo.
