This small village, located 17 km from Lugano and perched at an altitude of 717 m, backs onto the slopes of Monte Lema and its winter sports resort, from which it earns a substantial income. As well as being the starting point for excursions to Monte Lema, it is also a popular destination for views of the Malcantone mountains. The village of just over 300 inhabitants has preserved some traces of its medieval past, such as the churches of San Ambrogio and Santo Stefano, which still have their Romanesque bell towers and contain frescoes from the 12th and 13th centuries. The postal bus runs daily between Lugano and Miglieglia.
