Hverfjall is probably the most beautiful of many volcanoes scattered around Mývatn. It is an explosive volcano, at the slopes of black sand, dating from 2   500 years. Two easy trails, with a slopes of 160   m, leads to the top, another is the crater of the crater of 1   000 m. From there, superb view of the lake. A little further south-east, another explosive crater, the Lúdent. He is as black as the Hverfjall. Its crater is similar to that of a plate. From its summit, view on Mývatn on the east shore, the Vilingafjall and the mountains in table, massive and black, snow-covered all year round.
