Near Reykjahlíð, Stóragjá is a crack in which a hot source flows. Some are bathing although water is not renewed often enough to ensure sufficient hygiene (we do not recommend it). From there, two marked paths lead to Grjótagjá (another source also in a cave): one directly and the other, longer, winding through a beautiful, winding birch forest. Grjótagjá is a great fault, where caves are filled by hot springs. A few years ago, they were very much appreciated by bathers, but their temperature now reached 70   ° C. However, we can still enter the caves.
