From the foot of the Hverfjall, a signposted trail leads to Dimmuborgir, the " castles noirs", with natural fortresses formed by a veritable labyrinth of ruiniformes lava mounds of 2 km long. These chaotic accumulations of black lava, formed in strange forms, sometimes troués large doors, and arranged there in perfect disarray, are the remains of a rigid lava lake. Three marked paths allow you to walk, by making a loop, in this protected site.
