Make a stop in Saint-Hymer, a charming little town of 688 inhabitants. The history of the village goes back to the Middle Ages and is linked to that of William the Conqueror. Indeed, the Duke of Normandy had several canons installed in the Benedictine abbey, which remained there until the 17th century. During your visit of the city, you will be able to admire the magnificent priory of Saint-Hymer, dating from the 11th century (today a residence for elderly people) as well as the church classified as a historical monument. It is in its cemetery that the famous Mère Denis, advertising heroine of the Vedette washing machine brand in the 1970s, is buried.
