What to visit Pisa?
When to go to Pisa?
When to go to Pisa? The best time to visit Tuscany is in spring and late summer: the most pleasant months are April, May, June and September. Autumn is quite rainy and, in winter, it is not uncommon for it to snow, which, in cities like Pisa or Florence, is likely to cause some inconvenience, such as flights and trains delayed or cancelled.... The full summer, especially inland, is not recommended for people who have difficulty withstanding the (very) high heat.
Weather at the moment
Pisa enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot and dry summers and mild winters. The weather varies according to where you are: in the interior and north of Tuscany, it can be very hot in summer (Florence is one of the hottest cities in Italy) and, on the other hand, quite cold in winter (it is not unusual for snow to fall). Pisa being located on the coast enjoys a slightly more moderate climate.
Italy is in the euro zone. In Pisa, the cost of living is, at equal quality, almost identical to that of France. According to a long tradition in Italy, sitting at the table is a first reason for facturation : in general, €2 per "cutlery and bread" (pane e coperto) and per person. Menus displayed outside usually mention it. It is not customary to leave a tip.
For citizens of the European Union, an identity card is sufficient to enter Italian territory and stay in Tuscany, and particularly in Pisa, for less than three months. Beyond three months, the Questura (prefecture) must obtain the permesso di soggiorno (residence permit), which will be valid for a period of five years.
Little risk of particular contamination or lack of emergency aid. Rescue is very well organized and the mobile phone works well everywhere, which allows a quick intervention in case of problems. No special vaccinations are required to travel to Pisa. However, check that you are up to date with your vaccinations. Tap water is drinkable everywhere in Tuscany.

It should be noted that the price variation depends on the company borrowed, but also on the holiday period chosen: if you have the possibility, go out of season and out of school holidays, the prices of flights and hotels will drop as if by magic!
The most convenient way to travel is by car. Along the Ligurian coast, you can drive through Versilia, towards Pisa and Lucca, and then approach Florence. Continue through Arezzo and Siena, before descending to the Maremma to the Etruscan cities, and then drive up the coast, taking in the islands.
