A picturesque medieval village, as if clinging to a hill, linked to the writer Carlo Lorenzini (1826-1890), author of the Adventures of Pinocchio, who spent part of his childhood here (his mother was from Collodi). He is known throughout the world under the pseudonym of Carlo Collodi. As a tribute to the novelist and the famous wooden puppet, whose nose grows longer with every lie he tells, that he imagined at the end of the 19th century, a theme park was opened in 1956, as an evocative journey through this essential literary work for children, whose fame nowadays goes far beyond its original readership.
