Stay : Itinerary along the Alpine arc: from Mont Blanc to the Dolomites

Here is a circuit proposing to follow the Alpine chain. Arriving by road from France, you will discover the splendors of northern Italy, from Mont Blanc to Venice, Turin, the Great Lakes region and the Dolomites. This itinerary can also be followed over three weeks, with a few extra days of rest on the shores of one of the lakes, in Bolzano and in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Day 1: The Mont-Blanc

Steps: Courmayeur

Through the Mont-Blanc tunnel, you arrive in Courmayeur to take the Mont-Blanc cable car to the Aiguille du Midi.

Day 2: Grand-Paradis National Park

Steps: Cogne

Continue to the pretty village of Cogne for a walk in the famous Grand Paradis National Park.

Day 3: Aosta

Steps: Aoste

Go to Aosta on the road of the castles. Aosta is worth a visit for its old historical center and its typical Italian atmosphere. You will visit the castles of Fenis, Verres, Issogne and Bard.

Day 4: Turin

Steps: Piazza Armerina, Turin

Stroll through the historic center of Turin, via Roma, piazza Castello and piazza San Carlo, and be sure to visit the beautiful Egyptian Museum.

Day 5: Lake Maggiore

Steps: Lac Majeur, Îles Borromées, Stresa, Baveno, Isola Bella

Discover the western shore of Lake Maggiore. Stresa, the most famous resort, then Bavenno, where you will visit the park of Villa Taranto and its superb botanical garden. Then, the Borromean islands: Isola dei Pescatori and Isola Bella for its "Italian" gardens.

Day 6: Lake Orta

Steps: Lac D'Orta, Cannero Riviera

From Lake Maggiore, go to Cannero Riviera. The ruins of the Malpaga castles are very close to the resort. Then you can reach the smallest and most graceful of the Lombardy lakes: Orta. From Orta, you can reach the island of San Giulio by boat.

Day 7: Lake Como

Steps: Como - Côme, Bellagio, Lac De Côme

Cross Lake Como to Bellagio, the most beautiful resort on the lake. Visit the town and, above all, the gardens of Villa Serbelloni. Then leave for Como, the most chic city on the lake.

Day 8: Lake Garda

Steps: Malcesine

Go to Malcesine to take the Monte Baldo cable car and admire the view of the lake.

Day 9: Trento

Steps: Trente

Visit to the historical center of Trento, the Buonconsiglio Castle and the Muse, the Dolomite Science Museum.

Day 10: Bolzano

Steps: Bolzano - Bozen

A visit to the historic city of Bolzano and its famous archaeological museum where Ötzi, the ice man, is buried, is a must.

Day 11: Grande Route des Dolomites

Steps: Cortina D'Ampezzo

Visit the great Dolomites road from Bolzano to Cortina d'Ampezzo: 100 km in the middle of beautiful mountains.

Day 12: Natural Park of the Dolomites of Ampezzo

Visit the surroundings of Cortina and the natural site of the Cinque Torri.

Day 13: Venice

Steps: Venise

Drive to Venice to visit the Serenissima, St. Mark's Square, the Doge's Palace and the Dorsoduro district.

Day 14: Milan

Steps: Milan, Pise - Pisa

For a panoramic view of the city of Milan, climb to the terrace of the Duomo. Then stroll and store in the Quadrilateral area with its countless stores.

Day 15: Return to France through the Susa Valley

Steps: Exilles, Avigliana, Bardonecchia

Visit the Sacra di San Michele, on the way, and the fort of Exilles. You can spend your last Italian night in Bardonnechia, near the French border.
