This village has a very long tourist tradition. It is a traditional resort resort in the Metn region. The first hotel (Cedars Hotel) was built there in 1840. A former summer resort, Broummana was renowned for its pleasant climate during the heat of the coast in summer and its greenery. Wealthy nationals from Gulf countries came regularly. During the war, Broummana was a region of retreat. During this period, the population increased considerably (50,000 inhabitants with Beit Meri attached to it) and the number of shops increased. Today, Broummana is no longer so popular. Gulf tourists currently tend to ignore this destination to visit other summer resorts such as Aley and Bhamdoun. To counter this trend, the mayor has put in place a new development strategy. Its objective is to transform Broummana into a prestigious tourist destination for a very wealthy clientele. To this end, the municipality has undertaken several road and sidewalk renovations and the rehabilitation of building facades. Finally, Broummana remains a pleasant destination with its cafés, restaurants and hotels.During the crossing of Broummana, you will not be able to miss the imposing Grand Hills hotel complex (www.grandhillsvillage.com) which belongs to the Marriot group. This complex includes five restaurants, several swimming pools, a sports club and luxury boutiques. In addition, Broummana, at an altitude of 780 m, like its neighbour Beit Meri, enjoys a splendid view of the surroundings. A highly sought-after summer resort, it was once the residence of the Abillama emirs who ruled the Metn region
