At 3 km from Guastalla lies Gualtieri, which in 1567 became the capital of the donated of Cornelio Bentivoglio. The plans of the city were designed by the famous planner Giambattista Aleotta, says the Argenta, which, inspired by the theatrical space, made Piazza Bentivoglio to a large scene. You can also see the voluminous Bentivoglio palace of terracotta from the th century, with its lounges decorated with frescos (the most beautiful is the sala dei Giganti, "the giant salon"), as well as the Torre Civica, overlooking Piazza Bentivoglio.
