These are thermal baths and pretty hot springs, lost in the middle of incredibly lush vegetation. The hot springs are signposted from the main road. If you're at the monastery, just take the road back down to Banjar Tega, then turn left in the village center and drive about 1 km to the village of Banjar. In the village center, a sign indicates the direction and distance: "Air Panas; 1 km". They are open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and admission costs Rp 20,000. There's a restaurant underneath which you'll find a few rustic cabins for changing. Hot water is expelled by eight snakes in a first pool, then by five snakes in a second. The pools are scattered among tropical vegetation, and the resort's restaurant serves decent, not too expensive, traditional Indonesian cuisine. The water, slightly sulfurous, cascades 3 meters into the third pool. The temperature is quite bearable in the morning or late afternoon. Of course, washing in the pools is prohibited.
