Among the smallest villages in this guide, Heuland and La Croix-d 'Heuland are both the district around the city hall and the name of a true cross called also "Cross Rollon" or "Cross de la Mare aux Pois" which is the subject of an inscription under historic monuments since May 17, 1933. A legend alleges that Rollon, the Viking leader behind the duchy of Normandy, suspended gold bracelets and other valuables from this cross to prove to everyone that no thief dared to break his laws.
