It is small as a handkerchief and yet the village is filled with anecdotes. Cresseak is said to be the commune in the "thousand" streams: Anchor, Caudemuche, Cavelande… poetic names. Who says they haven't inspired Serge Gainsbourg? He and Jane Birkin had installed their country house in the old presbytery next to the church in the 1970 s. Some people still remember. Beautiful collective memory, like this one, farther, which explains that, like many Norman communes, Cresseak bears a name of Scandinavian origin meaning, literally, "the river of cresson". Cresseak's whole interest is to walk around. The xiith century church, under the patronage of Notre-Dame de l 'Assomption, is characterized by its Romanesque style of xiith century and its Gothic nef of the xviie. You will meet the Meridian of Greenwich, signaled by a sign and trace on the ground, whose existence is recalled every year at La Méridienne, a race organized at the end of August, in favor of the restoration of the church. Don't miss out on the lap, pass in front of the small town hall (1898) and borrow - it doesn't invent! - "The Useless Road" that will make you a village tour, more than very, very useful!
