24 km from Pelling. Khecheopalri Lake is a place revered by Buddhists and Hindus. Except for praying, no other activity is tolerated there. Located at an altitude of 1700 meters, it is a sacred place where a peaceful atmosphere prevails and is conducive to meditation and introspection. Surrounded by hundreds of prayer flags, the lake is a popular stop for trekkers. In March or April, the Khachoedpalri Mela festival takes place and it is a beautiful time to enjoy the spectacle of thousands of floating candles. Despite the presence of many Indian and Western tourists, the place is still remarkably preserved. Let's hope it stays that way!
