Perched at an altitude of 820 m, Geyzing (also known as Gyalshing) is above all a transit village. It's the direction to take to get to western Sikkim, and the town to go to when leaving. From here, you can take the bus to Gangtok and Siliguri (departure at 7 a.m.), Tashiding (irregular bus service, ask locally) and Pelling. Jeeps serve almost all destinations in the state, and also run shuttle services: departures at 7 a.m. for Siliguri, Gangtok and Kalimpong, and around midday for Tashiding, Yuksom and Khecheopalri Lake. You can extend your Sikkim permit by a further 15 days at the Superintendent of Police Office.
