Near Szerencs (take Route 37, then 3713 north), the small town of Mád is interesting for its baroque synagogue of Baroque style dating back to 1765 (it is in front of the school, Táncsics utca 38). In a picturesque environment, the rabbi's house, which offers a perfect example of provincial Hungarian architecture, has also survived the vicissitudes of time. There are a few large wine producers from Tokaj to Mád (like István Szepsy, Batthyány út 59).
