Travel Guide Kueishan Island 龜山島

This small volcanic island (Turtle Island or Kueishan Island), ten kilometres off the coast of Toucheng, owes its name to its shape. In addition to the spectacular scenery of its precipices, Turtle Island contains hot springs in the ocean and a 100 m long arm of land resembling a turtle's tail that is separated by two opposing currents. From April onwards, whale and dolphin watching is one of the main reasons to go to Turtle Island by boat. Boarding is at the fishing port of Wushih. Ten boats ensure the crossing, the price of which varies according to the chosen service.
