The tourist activity of this village in the southern suburbs of Yilan revolves around the Tongshan River which, although only about 20 kilometres long, is one of the most important rivers in the region. The place is much appreciated by locals, but also by city dwellers who like to stroll along the water's edge or practice rowing. At the mouth of the river, near the Tongshan Bridge, there is a site that is a delight for ornithologists: nearly 400 Taiwanese bird species are found here during the migration period. From Luodong station, you can take the tourist bus that takes you to several sites in the surrounding area. The whole trip takes 40 minutes
