Travel Guide Shifen 十分

The small village of Shifen is one of the unmissable stops on the Pingxi railway line. The railway literally cuts the village in half, and between two trains becomes a place to live and even the centre of all activities. As in Pingxi, but perhaps even more so, the main activity is the flying of lanterns. There are also many tourist shops and a few cafes where you can grab a bite to eat. We advise you to come there at dusk, when the lanterns take flight and become truly magical. Be careful of the crowds, however, especially on weekends. The stops between Shifen and Ruifang and between Shifen and Pingxi are good stops for nature walks.
