This town lies in the heart of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park, at the foot of the Tiñosa peak. An obligatory passage on the Caliphate Road that leads from Cordoba to Granada, the city is first considered the capital of Cordoba Baroque. Its houses are full of carved cornices and goldsmith's work. The churches (18th century) bear witness to the ancient prosperity of the city, a major centre of the silk industry. Priego has also preserved its villa from its Muslim period, a district with a winding and narrow layout leading to the Mirador de l'Aldrave. Its surroundings will be the occasion for walks, on foot, by bicycle or by car.
