10 km east of Priego de Cordoba, this pretty village dominated by the Cerro de la Cruz hill was a strategic location in Iberian and Roman times. The Villa Romana El Ruedo, one of the most complete Roman sites on the peninsula, dates from the 1st to the 7th century. Another must-see is the Iberian village. Dating from the 2nd and 3rd centuries BC, it was completely razed by the Romans but has since been rebuilt, providing an excellent vantage point over the surrounding area. Finds from both sites can be viewed at the archaeological museum in Fuente Ribera. (https://www.almedinillaturismo.es)
