Úbeda was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003. It owes its architectural richness to the meeting in the sixteenth century of the patron Francisco de Los Cobes y Molina, a local child, lover of Italian art, and Secretary of State of Charles V and the talented architect Andrés de Vandelvira. In the heart of this Renaissance pearl, lovers of Tuscany will feel at home. It should be observed at sunrise or at dusk when the stone is dressed in golden hues or, even better, at night when the city takes on another dimension with its monuments masterfully enhanced by beautiful lighting
