This provincial capital has always been renowned for its sweet wines. But until the early 2000s, nothing was done to attract visitors. Since then, it has undergone an incredible transformation, with the grooming of alleyways, the restoration of monuments such as the Alcazaba, the creation of green promenades and the proliferation of museums. Initiated in 2003, with the opening of the Picasso Museum, this process has continued, resulting in more than twenty museums, including the splendid Thyssen. A frenzy of change, reflected in new infrastructure (AVE, metro) and a vibrant nightlife and cultural scene.
