12 km east of Málaga, the Treasury Cave is the only maritime cave in Europe that can be visited. Cave paintings of animals and remnants of ceramics dating from Neolithic have been found. One legend states that the cave, authenticated as a former prehistoric sanctuary of the lunar goddess Noctiluce, contained a buried treasure in the th century.
