This island located west of the airport and north of the capital is famous for housing the central prison. Its reputation is therefore not idyllic, especially since the conditions of incarceration are very bad. No or little care, no daily outings, no light in all the cells, poor hygiene conditions are part of the prisoners' lot. Cases of torture are strongly suspected, especially since until 2015 torture was part of the regular practices of the police and prison administration. But, a priori, you should have no reason to visit or stay on this island.
