Located 30 km from Santo Domingo and 12 km from Las Americas airport, the seaside resort of Boca Chica is known as the Sunday beach for the inhabitants of the capital. Very early on, tourism developed there and Boca Chica has many tourist infrastructures. Protected by a coral reef that shelters the lagoon, it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the east, and by far the most pleasant in the immediate vicinity of the capital.
