Travel Guide Isla Saona

People come every day from all over the country to spend the day on this pearl of the Caribbean coast and pride of the Dominicans. Isla Saona is located in front of the south-eastern tip of the Dominican Republic. It is part of the Este National Park: its fauna and flora are totally protected. Well sheltered from the winds, its interior lagoon is a true refuge for migratory birds, safe from all threats. Saona is so blessed that it has the lowest mortality rate in the country. There is no real infrastructure on the island, and visitors usually only spend a day or half a day there.
