This fishing village has retained all the charm of a small Dominican seaside town: Guayacanes, located 13 kilometers from Boca Chica and just 2 kilometers from Juan Dolio, offers an unpretentious, pleasant and perfectly typical stopover on this part of the coast. Although accommodation is fairly limited and much more rustic than in the surrounding towns and villages, it's easy to find good food - and cheap! At weekends, the village fills up with domingueros who come to enjoy the long, shallow, palm-fringed beach of golden sand.
