Val-Cenis is a new commune in the Parc national de la Vanoise, created in 2017 by grouping together the former communes of Bramans, Sollières-Sardières, Termignon, Lanslebourg-Mont-Cenis and Lanslevillard. It's important to be aware that this is a vast territory and to know where you're going when you want to visit Val-Cenis, as you'll soon be driving for miles. It has become one of France's largest communes. Its administrative center and town hall are located in Termignon. The Val Cenis ski resort, the Col du Mont-Cenis (closed in winter), the Col de l'Iseran (closed in winter) and Mont-Cenis are all located here. This vast commune has been awarded the "Station Verte" label and is a member of the "Perles des Alpes" network...In Termignon: the church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption and the chapel of Notre-Dame de la Visitation, both listed historic monuments, as well as the chapels of Saint-Roch and Saint-André.In Bramans: the Saint-Pierre d'Extravache church (listed as a Monument Historique) and the baroque church of l'Assomption. The Vallon de Savine and Col Clapier are believed to have been passed through by Hannibal Barca.In Sollières-Sardières: you'll find the Rocher des Balmes and the Grotte des Balmes, both listed historic monuments, the churches of Saint-Laurent de Sardières and Saint-Étienne de Sollières, the Sardières monolith, the Chappe telegraph relay station at the Mollard-Fleury site, the Sollières-Sardière archaeological museum, the Sollières-Sardières airfield and the Pointe de Bellecombe.Lanslebourg-Mont-Cenis: Assomption-de-la-Vierge church, Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church, Fort de Ronce near the Mont-Cenis pass.In Lanslevillard : the church of Saint-Michel, a listed historic monument, and a dozen listed chapels: chapelle Saint-Antoine, chapelle Sainte-Anne, chapelle Saint-Roch, chapelle de la Madeleine, chapelle Saint-Étienne, chapelle Sainte-Agathe, chapelle Saint-Genix, chapelle Saint-Pierre and the bridge over the Arcelle Neuve stream, chapelle Saint-Laurent, chapelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette, chapelle Saint-Jean-Baptiste, chapelle Saint-Sébastien... You can also discover the Pierre à cupules, known as the Pierre de Chantelouve, and the Pierre aux Pieds, a white rock engraved with numerous cupules.
