This village in the Chabeuil region, with a population of 1,500, lies between Chabeuil and Crest, at the foot of Mont Mierry, where the ruins of a fortified castle still stand. The villagers are very attached to Notre-Dame-de-Mierry and above all to their traditional corso, which attracts thousands of visitors during the joyous, musical feasting of the Fête des bouviers, held since the early 20th century on the second Sunday in January. A path winds through the woods up to the calvary, where numerous pilgrimages have taken place. As for tourists, they come to Upie to see the birds.
