A picturesque, symbolic village. Between Crest and Chabeuil, at the foot of the Vercors, La Baume-Cornillane is, in a way, at the center of the world. And yet, on the surface, it's just a few houses around a bell tower for one of the smallest communes in the conurbation. There's a good restaurant, a keep (a cousin of the Crest tower) with a panoramic view over the valley, and a jagged line of standing rock, including a boulder known as Pangée, which also symbolizes the prehistoric continent. In geological times, Pangaea was the point where almost all of the world's landmass came together. There are also themed trails and hikes.
