The medieval village of Crépol (550 inhabitants) marks the entrance to the upper valley of the Herbasse. Its architecture is distinguished by its buildings built of pebbles and molasses. The commune shelters the forest of Bourdogne given by the Marcieu marquise. To see: the Saint-Roch du Mont de Véroux chapel, a building with a Romanesque chevet, topped by a bell tower, whose existence is attested since 1050. From the church of Saint-Étienne, located in the cemetery, only the seigneurial chapel of Saint-Jean-Baptiste remains at the base of the bell tower. Its walls are decorated with classified frescoes, probably dating from the second half of the 20th century. As for the medieval castle, Châteauvieux, there are only ruins left on its castle mound.
