A village in the Drôme des Collines region where a certain... letter carrier Cheval was born before settling in Hauterives and building his famous Ideal Palace. The village is home to a château that has preserved its towers and keep. Its origins date back to 1160, when the lords of Nerpol commissioned its construction. The village was marked by the presence, in the 15th and 16th centuries, of Imbert de Bathernay, advisor to Louis XI, Charles VII and Louis XII, and responsible for the education of the children of François I. This charming wooded village, bathed by streams and rivers, is home to important medieval remains and part of Lake Champos. Its castle is open to visitors.
