Travel Guide Sceautres

You arrive at Sceautres by a small bucolic road. This isolated village of the Coiron massif appears in all its originality, at the bend of a bend. It is placed at the foot of an impressive neck at the beginning of the world, 150 m above the valley. This basalt base of ovoid shape was formed 8 million years ago following a volcanic eruption. It is the most important neck in Europe. A themed trail around geology goes around the neck in a wild and majestic environment where you can discover a very special flora and balsamic soil, crossing the river that has dug its bed at its base. According to a legend, climbing to the top of the Neck brings good luck to the newlyweds. True or not, the view of the Coiron plateau is sumptuous. But don't make this small ascent in summer, the reverberation on the black rock adds to the Ardèche summer heat.
