A pleasant summer resort. Twenty kilometers from Saint-Péray, on the Crussol plateau between the Rhône valley and the Vernoux region, this small village on the banks of the Duzon river was owned by the Lords of Crussol in the Middle Ages. Alboussière's name refers to the arbutus, a southern shrub with small orange fruits rich in vitamin C. Perched on an agricultural plateau crossed by the waters of the Duzon, the town attracts tourists with its lake set in peaceful, green, wooded surroundings. Nearby attractions include the church of Saint-Didier de Crussol, the grounds of Château de Cachard, Château de Barjac and Château de Crozat. Strawberries and raspberries ripen on the surrounding slopes. You can also stock up on farmhouse goat's cheese direct from the producers. In summer, you can enjoy the Friday night market. This commune of almost 1,000 inhabitants is alive and kicking all year round. Village festivals follow one another, both in the center of the village and along the lake and campsite. Locals enjoy the four seasons on the nearby hiking trails. All small shops are present, including a medical center and pharmacy. A good Italian ice-cream parlour is a local reference. Nearby, the Domaine du Trouillet offers a variety of cultural and artistic events from spring to autumn.
