To stroll through Poncin, an ancient medieval town located in the valley, is to hear centuries of history echoing to the rhythm of old houses with arcades, ramparts, mansions, loopholes, winegrowers' houses, a church with interesting stained glass windows and a beautiful octagonal baptismal font. A private castle preserves a square tower and ramparts to which are added classified terraced gardens that can be visited during the heritage days. Poncin is also 7 hamlets which have kept their wash houses and bread ovens carefully restored and surrounded by fountains, as well as some barns.
