This place of hermitages has come to a great deal. Its roots date back to the th century, when the saints Andiol and Isidore évangélisent Provence and the th century. Between Alpilles, Montagnette and Luberon, Saint-Andiol is a small village steeped in history. St. Croix Chapel and Saint Vincent Church, of pure Romanesque style, are now part of the oldest monuments of Provence. As for the Auberge de France, this former medieval post-office relay had the figures of Pope Pius VII in 1812 and Marshal Brown in 1815, without forgetting the emblematic figure of the region, Jean Moulin, born in 1899 in Béziers and baptized in this village where he spent his family holidays. It was also the cradle of his résistant actions and the place of his parachute in 1942, which is now the subject of a course on his tracks, «The Path of Freedom».
