28 km south-west of Nantes and 15 km from the sea, Sainte-Pazanne belongs to historic Brittany, the traditional Pays de Retz and the historic Nantes region. The remains of the Galerie des Fées, a megalithic monument, and the Gallo-Roman ruins of the village of Le Bois bear witness to this. Until the end of the 19th century, this place was very frequented by the boat service in the port Faissant where the traffic was important. A dynamic town attached to its traditions, it offers a show every year, Christ the King, contributing to its reputation. The church of Notre-Dame is listed as a model of neo-Gothic architecture
