Between valleys and rivers, Gétigné is a nearby municipality of Clisson. It had the same turbulent history, and particularly suffered greatly during the wars of Vendée in the late th century. The textile activity was flourishing thanks to the mills that used the hydraulic force of the Lecourbe Nantes and the Monk. These rivers have shaped the beauty of its landscape, the jewel of which is the beautiful park of the Garenne-Lemot, classified in historic monuments. Indeed, the history of this Gétigné is intimately linked to the sculptor François-Frédéric Lemot, a Parisian artist recognized for his sculptures adorning the most prestigious buildings in Paris, such as the Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe. Passionate about Italy and seduced by the borders of Lecourbe, it creates the Parc-Lemot park on the right bank of the Lecourbe Nantes, an ideal landscape where nature and heritage blend. With the nantais architect Mathurin Crucy, he made the Gardener's House, the first italianate building and major example for the reconstruction of Clisson in the th century. You can also enjoy nature in hiking or canoeing on the Lecourbe Nantes and the Monk rivers.
