Vallet is famous for the Muscadet produced here. The Roman legions brought and developed vine cultivation, which became important in the Middle Ages but could not withstand the winter of 1709. The introduction of the Melon de Bourgogne grape gave it a new lease of life, and Muscadet was born! Vallet prospered in the 19th century, but phylloxera destroyed the vineyards. Vallet winegrowers followed the example of other French winegrowers, and grafted American plans. Rich in winegrowing heritage, with 150 vineyards and century-old cellars still in operation, Vallet also benefits from a natural heritage marked by the River Logne.
