The small village Hamel and its 780 inhabitants are located in the valley of the Sensée. The landscapes surrounding the village are its greatest asset! Indeed, between its impressive marshes and the agricultural plain of the Ostrevent, the possibilities to discover the Douaisis are numerous and very appreciable (as well on foot as by bike). During your visit to the commune, some monuments are worth a visit, such as the chapel of Notre-Dame de Bonsecours, the church of Saint-Sarre and the dolmen of Le Bois. Hamel is also known for its sand quarry, where many wild insects live.
