Caudry is a small town with a discreet charm and a very rich history. Caudry is especially the city of lace. The city has indeed known an exceptional development thanks to the industry of tulles, laces and mechanical embroidery. Hardly tested by the wars, the city however came out stronger, constantly modernizing this industry which makes its fame. Nowadays, Caudry has been labelled as a "city and art trades" and attracts the curious in its beautiful Lace Museum. Note that the giants of the city, Batisse and Laïte, are respectively weaver and mender, which shows the importance of textiles in the city
