A small fortified town, nicknamed "the key to the Netherlands", Bouchain is a pretty fortified town. The bastion of the Forges is worth seeing. Beautiful views and visits are offered to travelers as the Tower of Ostrevant dating from the seventeenth century and classified as a historical monument in 1981. The museum dedicated to it is very instructive. You can discover the history of the city and in particular the arrival of Hitler and the German troops in June 1940. The city is also crossed by water and we discover many canals, vestiges of a merchant river navigation. A green city and heritage that deserves a visit.
